After reading Black Hands in the Biscuits Not in the Classroom has truly made me think so much about segregation has affected many individuals in America.  The struggle that these innocent people had to go through and deal with was just not fair.  I could feel the pain that these families went through.  The fact that Hughes used personal stories truly made the book inspiring.  Throughout reading the book I wished that I could have done something personal to help these families with what they had to deal with.  I wanted to figure out a way that I could help change this whole concept of segregation that was being dealt with in North Carolina.  We are very fortunate to know that today segregation is not such a large issue today.  Although, it really upset me to find out that there are issues going on with segregation.  For example, the Omaha, Nebraska situation with re-districting their schools to separate them into different races.

Dealing with having to make a website was definitely a huge deal for me.  I was so surprised at all the work that goes with making a website for class.  At first, it seemed to be very overwhelming and I was very nervous to actually create it.  Although in the end, I am very proud of the website that my fellow group members and I have put together.  I am glad with the book I chose because it really showed me a side of segregation that I never really knew too much about.  I was able to connect with it in a way in which I really wanted to help and get involved.  I only hope that segregation does not occur once again and that we are able all integrate as a whole.
